Skins changes the entire appearance of the game. In ReCUB 2000, the skins consist on a group of images that produce the animation of the buttons and the background pictures. This group of images, and other files needed, are included in a sub-folder of the 'Skin' folder (the list of all these files is shown in the next items). The name of this sub-folder is what you see in the skin selection window.
If you aren't playing a game, you can press the Skin button or F5 to change the skin. Once there, you can select a skin and see the preview image. If you find someone that you like, press the Ok button to replace the actual skin with that one. Press the Cancel button to return to the game without changes.
If you want to download more skins... Go to the ReCUB 2000 web page. There, you will find all skins not included in the distribution version of ReCUB, plus more sounds, music, information, links, and other free games from the same author.
You can also make your own skin!. The best way to create your first skin is to modify an already existent one. You can make a copy of a skin sub-folder and then make your changes, with any image editor. NOTE: do not delete or modify the original copy of the 'Default skin' !! This skin is used when a selected skin is missing or corrupted. To make a skin from the scratch, print the list of files needed and read the examples and notes of the following items...
Use this reference to locate the different images of the 'files included' table.

Here is the full list of files that must be included in a skin sub-folder, with a short description of each one (see the previous reference):

Some notes about the images:
- The images that have
the format "BMP or JPG" should be all of
the same format, that is, all BMP or all JPG.
- All 45 files must
exist. If some file is missing, the skin will be
impossible to select.
- The background image
also contains the disabled buttons.
- The images with
different size to the mentioned in the table, will be
stretched.
